One time I read that most of the people that bad mouth Florida do not live here, and I have to agree. Yes, the state isn’t perfect (Florida man, anyone?), but there sure are lots of things to do. Between those things to do, many can be considered romantic. Stunning sunsets, crystal clear waters, sugar sands, fairytales, a wizardly world, and pretending you are in Europe are just some of the things you can experience with your significant other in the Sunshine State. For this reason, I’ll let you know what hotel to choose for a romantic getaway and memories you’ll never forget.
The Vinoy® Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club – St. Petersburg, FL
The Vinoy® Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club
This 4-star Mediterranean Revival resort is located on the Tampa Bay Waterfront, at only 25 minutes from the Tampa airport. A member of the Historic Hotels of America, the Vinoy has a legendary past and many stories to tell.
The hotel is an excellent choice for history buffs, couples looking to relax, and those who enjoy playing golf. If you are on Instagram (follow me here), the pink hotel walls make a beautiful picture backdrop.
The Vinoy is only 5 minutes by car and 15 minutes by foot from Downtown St. Petersburg, where you can find great places to eat and things to do. Moreover, it is also the same distance, but through Bayshore Dr., from the Dali Museum, one of my favorite museums not only in the state but the world.
Loews Portofino Bay at Universal Orlando Resort – Orlando, FL

If you want to pretend you’re in Italy and maybe fool some friends with your pictures, the Loews Portofino Bay is the hotel for you. After entering the property, you’ll feel you have traveled from Orlando to Portofino, Italy, in seconds.
Visiting the Universal Orlando Resort can be a romantic experience in itself, but staying at the Portofino will amplify the experience. When you stay in this hotel, your keys will also work as an Express Pass, and you’ll have Early Admission to the parks. This will help you save lots of time, and you will enjoy the parks so much more than if you didn’t have those perks.
When staying here, you also don’t have to worry about transportation. You can walk to the parks through beautiful bridges and gardens, or you can take a boat that will drop you at Universal City Walk.
JW Marriot Marco Island Beach Resort – Marco Island, FL

Private beach? Check. Luxurious? Check. Stunning Gulf of Mexico sunsets? Check. An exclusive area for adults? Check. As you can see, the JW Marriot, Marco Island Beach Resort appears to have it all and more for a romantic trip.
You can leave the resort if you want, but you don’t have to. Here you will find twelve dining options, a spa, and an entertainment center. You can also schedule catamaran, sailboat, paddle boarding, and kayaking adventures. It’s almost like going to Bali but without the incredibly long flight.
The Inn on Fifth – Naples, FL

If you want to experience the rich retiree life, Naples in Florida is the place to go. However, to really experience Naples, I’ll recommend you stay at the Inn on Fifth. Furthermore, I’ll suggest you stay at Club Level Suites.
When you stay at the Club Level Suites at the Inn on Fifth, you don’t have to worry about anything. Valet parking and transportation around downtown Naples is included. There are also complimentary afternoon snacks, evening cocktails, and light breakfast. To top things off, you also have access to a private rooftop sundeck and whirlpool spa with Downtown Naples and Fifth Avenue views.
Talking about Fifth Avenue, here you can find stylish boutiques, galleries, and great restaurants. If you want to enjoy the beach, it is only a 10-minute drive.
Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows – Orlando, FL
Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows – Matt Stroshane
I already feel the heat coming from choosing Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows as the most romantic hotel in Disney over Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. But, what can I say, they have Bungalows.
Near the picturesque white-sand shore of Seven Seas Lagoon, these accommodations are located a quick monorail ride to the enchanting Magic Kingdom Park, and steps away from the various world-class amenities available at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
The Bora Bora bungalows, one of the accommodation choices, have their own private plunge pool on a deck where you and your other half can enjoy the Magic Kingdom fireworks without having to rub shoulders with thousands of other guests.

If you’re looking more into Florida’s East Coast, you can’t overlook the Pelican Grand Beach Resort. Adorning 500 feet of Fort Lauderdale’s private, pristine beachfront, the Pelican seaside elegance offers guests a coastal-chic waterfront retreat.
Here you can catch a stunning sunset from your private balcony and indulge in culinary creations while having your “Toes in the Sand,” a dining experience that will surely be unforgettable. You can also relax at Fort Lauderdale’s only lazy river and enjoy the hotel location, away from the busy streets.
If you feel like leaving the hotel, Fort Lauderdale has lots to offer and is less crowded and less expensive than Miami. From art museums to breathtaking gardens, nightlife, and miles of treasured reefs, you and your loved one won’t have time to feel bored.
Boca Raton Resort & Club – Boca Raton, FL
Boca Raton Resort & Club Porte-cochère
The Boca Raton Resort & Club can be found an hour away from Miami. Opulent, stunning, and with one of the best spas in the United States, it is a place to disconnect and enjoy life to the maximum.
With three properties, the Boca Raton Resort & Club, Yacht Club, and the Boca Beach Club have accommodations for every type of travel couple. Same thing with restaurants. With 13 restaurants and bars on-site, you can choose from seafood, burgers, sushi, and $1000 desserts.
The only limitation regarding things to do and eat will be your budget. Oh, if some of the buildings look ‘familiar,’ it is because the Waldorf Astoria Spa at Boca Raton Resort & Club is modeled after Spain’s historic Alhambra Palace.
PGA National Resort & Spa – Palm Beach, FL

If a golf outing sounds like your perfect date, this is the resort for you and your partner. The PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach intertwines luxury and golf, two of the best things Florida has to offer, and presents it not only as a destination but as an experience.
With five championship golf courses, a spa, and a sports and racquet club, you will not complain about not having anything to do. There is also on-site dining with restaurants, cafes, and bars.

We can’t forget about the Florida Panhandle and the Emerald Coast. The Henderson Beach & Spa in Destin offers spacious and luxurious rooms, delicious dining with breathtaking views, watersports, and blissful spa treatments.
The hotel blends nostalgia with modern conveniences under a nautical theme for a stylish and careless stay. The Henderson has a full-service restaurant, bar with panoramic Gulf Views, and even an old ice cream shop if you get hungry.
The Resort at Longboat Key Club – Longboat Key, FL
The pool at The Resort at Longboat Key Club
The Resort at Longboat Key Club is an excellent choice as your home base for exploring Sarasota and Bradenton’s nearby cities and famous beaches such as Siesta Key Beach and Lido Beach.
Longboat Key is a town south of Anna Maria Island, between Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Because of its privileged location, you can expect to find stunning sunset views, sugar sands, and clear waters.
Nonetheless, if you want to relax at the resort, you can choose between golf, lagoon, or beachfront accommodation and then go for a spa treatment, dinner, and drinks while enjoying breathtaking views of the Gulf of Mexico. If it sounds like paradise, it’s because it is.
